Attendance Awareness Month

Celebrating its 110th year, the Attendance Awareness Campaign broadcasts the message that every day a student is in school is an opportunity to learn, build relationships and access support. The campaign urges schools to promote the value of good attendance and to take concrete steps toward reducing chronic absence. It includes the designation of September as Attendance Awareness Month and the launch of year-long attendance campaigns.

Attendance Awareness Month will see instant rewards for good attendance, lessons focussed on the importance of accessing your education.

Evidence shows pupils who attend poorly in September, are at increased risk of dropping into severe or persistent absence patterns.

Parents are invited to get involved in supporting their child to attend every day and on time.
