We believe that learning to read is the gateway to success. It unlocks learning across the whole curriculum, opens the door to new worlds, and gives every child the power to discover, imagine, question and understand.
We are passionate about every child becoming a reader. Whatever their starting point, background, experience or individual needs, we believe every pupil deserves the opportunity, encouragement and support to develop the skills and confidence to read successfully. We recognise that every reading journey is different, and we are committed to removing barriers, celebrating progress and ensuring that no child is left behind.
Our pupils embark on an important journey: from learning to read, to reading to learn, and ultimately to reading for life.
We want every pupil to become a successful, confident and enthusiastic reader, someone who can read with purpose, understand with confidence and discover the joy that books can bring. Through high quality teaching, targeted support and a culture of reading, we nurture readers to see themselves as capable, valued and successful.
